Windwing is pleased to announce a REVOLUTIONARY BREAKTHROUGH in kite safety and control: the Windwing S.A.F.E. (Simple, Aerodynamic, Four-line, Extended-range) de-power system. The S.A.F.E. System allows nearly 100% de-power and controlled landing in overpowered or gusty conditions, using a 4-line system that goes beyond advantages claimed by current 5-line systems.


The S.A.F.E. System is comprised of four elements - kite geometry, S.A.F.E. bridle attachments on the kite's shoulders, a front line load transfer bridle at the wingtip and an extended-range control bar. Under normal flying, the kite is controlled in the usual manner. When the S.A.F.E. System is activated by pushing the bar away, the front line load is transferred to the kite's shoulders allowing complete de-powering of the kite. Steering and 4-line control are maintained at all times and normal flying is restored by re-sheeting the bar. Lofting and uncontrolled downwind drags are reduced and traditional re-launch is enhanced without complicated 5th line or special bar release systems.


Windwing is dedicated to the long-term growth of kiteboarding and rider safety is of prime concern. While the S.A.F.E. System greatly increases pilot control in situations which may potentially be injurious or life threatening, Windwing strongly encourages individual responsibility for rider and spectator safety.


Windwing's patent-applied-for S.A.F.E. System will first be available on the new and improved 2005 Rage II mid-aspect performance kite, followed by the all-new high-aspect 2005 Outrage. The 2005 Rage II will be available worldwide at very competitive factory-direct pricing to consumers starting mid to late November. The new 2005 Outrage will be available mid-December. Both kites can both be flown in three different configurations: traditional hard-line, S.A.F.E. mode, and JumpStart re-Launch mode. S.A.F.E. and JumpStart bridles are sold separately. Extended range S.A.F.E. compatible bars will be available in 2 models: the B-S.A.F.E. Basic bar and CC-S.A.F.E. Cruise Control bar.

Bar sizes: 50 and 56cm in both B-S.A.F.E. and Cruise Control models.
